Wide-Band Chaotic Noise Signal for Velocity Estimation and Imaging of High-Speed Moving Targets

چکیده
This paper proposes a burst model of chaotic noise signals with randomly stepped carrier frequencies for velocity estimation and high-resolution range imaging of high-speed moving targets. The random stepping of carrier frequencies is controlled by a combination chaotic map (CCM), which is generated by embedding a Logistic map into a Bernoulli map. The baseband noise signal adopts the CCM based frequency-modulation (CCM-FM) signal, which has good randomness and a thumbtack ambiguity function as well. The velocity estimation includes a coarse search and a precise search, where the coarse search is conducted with a fixed step to makes the velocity deviation less than the velocity resolution, while the precise search adopts the Golden Section Search (GSS) algorithm to get an accurate estimation of velocity. What should be emphasized is that the velocity estimation process can be completed with just a burst of subpulses. Then the spectra are coherently synthesized to obtain ultra-wide bandwidth and high-resolution range imaging. Finally, numerical simulations demonstrate a good performance of the proposed signal model and the processing algorithm.

Multichannel synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a significant breakthrough to the inherent limitation between high-resolution and wide-swath (HRWS) compared with conventional SAR. Moving target indication (MTI) is an important application of spaceborne HRWS SAR systems. In contrast to previous studies of SAR MTI, the HRWS SAR mainly faces the problem of under-sampled data of each channel, causin...
متن کاملA Multi -scale Sub-Aperture interferometry scheme for Estimating Target Velocity with SAR
A moving target will cause changes in the chirp signal coefficients of signals received by synthetic aperture radar (SAR). By computing these coefficients, we can find the speed of a moving target speed. This paper describes a new approach for estimating the doppler coefficients. The approach uses the sub-aperture interferometry scheme to estimate the chirp signal coefficients. A closed-form ex...
متن کاملImproving the velocity tracking of cruise control system by using adaptive methods
Accurate and correct performance of controller in cruise control systems is important. Hence, in such systems, controller should optimize itself against noise and probable changes in system dynamic. These approaches are used as controllers to track refe...
متن کاملVelocity Measurement Using Angular- and Frequency- Correlation Techniques
Detecting and estimating the velocity of slowly moving targets from a moving platform is difficult due to the Doppler broadening of the ground clutter. The latest MTI (moving target indicator) technique employs STAP (spacetime adaptive processing) to reduce the clutter's signal and thus, is able to detect the target's speed [ 11. This technique has proven to be very effective for detecting high...
